Recognition of glazed ceramic tower at Tro pagoda as National Treasure

The glazed ceramic tower at Tro Pagoda became one of 22 National Treasures according to the Decision No. 1821 on the National treasure recognition in 2018.

The treasure with 1.45 meter high and 0.5 meter wide dated at 14th century is currently preserved and exhibited at Vinh Phuc museum.

This relic has been recognized as the largest and most intact glazed ceramic tower in the ancient ceramic treasure under Dai Viet (Great Viet) dynasty (1225 - 1400). Its decorations with three basic colors of celadon, white glaze and brown glaze bolded stamp of the Buddhist art and expressed the cultural interference between Great Viet historical dynasties.

The artifact was collected by Vinh Phuc museum from Tro pagoda in Yen Lac district’s Yen Phuong commune.
