Quang Binh provincial government receives new Apostolic Administrator of Ha Tinh Diocese

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Hồ An Phong hosted on May 12 a warm reception for visiting Bishop Louis Nguyễn Anh Tuấn, the new Apostolic Administrator of Ha Tinh Diocese.  

At the visiting reception, Vice Chairman Hồ An Phong extended congratulations and successes to Bishop Louis Nguyễn Anh Tuấn on his new post, and highlighted practical contributions made by local Catholic people and organizations for public order, security and socio-economic development in Quang Binh.

Regarding religious affairs, the official also informed that the provincial government has paid due attention and created all favorable conditions for social activities and religious practices of parishioners in Quang Binh, and expressed hope to closely and openly collaborate with Ha Tinh Diocese and Bishop Louis Nguyễn Anh Tuấn for solving remaining issues, contributing to improve the spiritual and material life of parishioners in the province and foster cordial relations between state authorities and religious organizations in the locality. 

While appreciating the warm reception of Quang Binh provincial authorities, Bishop Louis Nguyễn Anh Tuấn spoke highly of socio-economic achievements in the province, and expressed that he looked forward to developing the state – religion relation with more closeness and sincerity, in order to together foster further developments in the country. 

Bishop Louis Nguyễn Anh Tuấn, who served as Auxiliary Bishop of Ho Chi Minh City Archdiocese and Head of the Committee for Pastoral Care of Migrants under the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam, was appointed by Pope Francis as Apostolic Administrator of Ha Tinh Diocese in the North Central region of Vietnam on March 19 this year.
