Pure–land lay Buddhist association in Tien Giang spends over 1.3 billion VND for charities during Covid-19 pandemic

The Vietnam Pure–land Lay Buddhist Association in Tien Giang province currently home to over 2,000 practitioners residing in six districts of the province with ten chapters and ten medical clinics.  

According to Head of the Pure–land Buddhist Association’s Executive Committee in the province Trần Công Chức, from May 2021, medical clinics under the Buddhist association in the locality have suspended medical examinations and only provided medicines with the strict observation of the 5K message for the Covid-19 prevention and control.

Members and chapters of the Pure–land Buddhist association have also presented 43.9 tons of rice, 7,640 set of essential supplies and over 16,000 medicine packs, valued at over 1.3 billion VND in total, to the poor and disadvantaged people in quarantine areas.
