Vice Chairman of Soc Trang provincial People’s Committee Ngô Hùng had an exchange meeting on April 24 with a delegation from the Central Executive Committee of the Pure-Land Buddhist Association led by Vice Chairman Nguyễn Văn Tuy.
Director of the Other Religions Department under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Ánh Chức also attended the meeting.
The meeting focused on the organization of the general meetings of the chapter of the Buddhist association in the province. According to the Pure-Land Association, the executive boards of its provincial chapters will hold general meetings for the 2018-2023 tenure and elect members of the executive boards on May this year.
Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman Ngô Hùng stated that local authorities would create favorable conditions for the Pure-Land Buddhist Association’s chapters in the locality to convene the general meeting for the 2018-2023 tenure.
According to the Central Executive Committee of the Pure-Land Buddhist Association, the association in Soc Trang province has currently 15 chapters and two charity medical charity clinics with nearly 105,000 followers.
