Joining the visit included Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Ngô Xuân Thắng, Standing Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Council Lê Minh Trung and Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Committee Ngô Thị Kim Yến.

On behalf of the Da Nang municipal government, Chairman Lương Nguyễn Minh Triết conveyed warm greetings and celebrations to the municipal VBS and all monks, nuns and lay Buddhists in the city on the 40^th founding anniversary of the Buddhist Sangha. He also lauded Buddhist followers and the municipal VBS for their active participation in social programs, movements launched by the municipal VFF for socio-economic development in the city.  

The official also highlighted practical contributions by Buddhists and VBS establishments in Da Nang to the Covid-19 prevention work over the past months, including their efforts in containing the pandemic spread and support supplies sent to disadvantaged people during the pandemic outbreak.

Speaking with the guests, Most Venerable Thích Thiện Toàn, Member of the VBS’s Central Executive Council cum Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the VBS’s Chapter in Da Nang, thanked the municipal delegation for their congratulation visit on occasion of the VBS’s 40^th anniversary, and took the chance to thank the municipal government of the Da Nang for due attention and favorable conditions extended to religious practices of Buddhist followers in Da Nang and Buddhist affairs of the VBS in the city.

In the central highlands province of Gia Lai, on occasion of the 40^th founding anniversary the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Văn Nô paid on November 2-3 congratulatory visits to Most Venerable Thích Trí Thạnh, Member of the VBS’s Central Patronage Council cum Patron of the VBS in Gia Lai; Most Venerable Thích Từ Vân, Member of the VBS’s Central Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Committee in Gia Lai; and several prestigious Buddhist dignitaries in the province.
