Provincial authorities of Khanh Hoa, Vinh Long & Dong Thap extends Easter greetings to local Christians

Standing Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee in the central province of Khanh Hoa paid on April 1 visits to the Office of Nha Trang Catholic Diocese and the representative committee of the Vietnam Evangelical Church (South) in the province on occasion of Easter 2021.  

During the visits, Vice Chairman Lê Hữu Hoàng extended warm celebrations of Easter to all Catholics and Evangelicals in Khanh Hoa, and highlighted many contributions made by local Catholic parishes and Evangelical churches for sustainable development in Khanh Hoa. The official also asked local religious organizations to promote fine traditions for socio-economic development in the locality.

In Vinh Long province, a delegation led by Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Bùi Văn Nghiêm visited and extended Easter greetings to Vinh Long Diocese and the Evangelical Church in the southern province.

During the visit, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bùi Văn Nghiêm met and had exchanges with Bishop of Vinh Long Peter Huỳnh Văn Hai and Pastor Nguyễn Hoàng Phúc, Chairman of the Vietnam Evangelical Church (South)’s representative committee in Vinh Long.

He highlighted practical contributions to socio-economic development by Christians in the province and asked local Christian dignitaries to continue encouraging and guiding lay Christians to proactively engage in social programs and movements launched in the locality, as well as the upcoming elections of deputies to the 15th Legislature of the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure.

Earlier on March 30, Head of the provincial Commission for Mass Mobilization of Dong Thap cum Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in the province Lê Thành Công paid visits and extended Easter greetings to dignitaries and lay followers of Christianity in the southern locality.   

The official has visited Vietnam Evangelical Church (South)’s representative committee in Dong Thap, Sa Dec Evangelical Church Chapter and the Providence Congregation in the province, and met with Pastor Đặng Trường Sơn, Chairman of the Vietnam Evangelical Church (South)’s representative committee in the province; Priest Matthew Nguyễn Văn Văn of Vinh Long Diocese; Priest Michael Lê Vĩnh Khương, Deputy Head of the Catholic Solidarity Board in the province; and Priest Paul Phan Thanh Duy, Member of the Catholic solidarity board.

During the visit, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in the province Lê Thành Công also had exchanges with the hosts about practical contributions of local Christians over the past years and the Covid-19 pandemic prevention during religious festivals.
