During the visit taking place at Tam Buu pagoda located in Tri Ton district’s Ba Chuc town of the province, the delegation led by Secretary of the People’s Committee in the province Lê Hồng Quang extended congratulations to Tu An Hieu Nghia Buddhist association on its founding anniversary.

Tu An Hieu Nghia Buddhist Association was founded on the 5^th day of the fifth lunar month in 1867 by Ngô Lợi Buddhist Master. The three major anniversaries of Tu An Hieu Nghia Buddhist Association include the Founder Ngô Lợi’s Birthday, the founder’s enlightenment day, and the founding day of Tu An Hieu Nghia Buddhism.

The Tu An Hieu Nghia Faith received the legal entity recognition on June 16, 2010, and was renamed as the Tu An Hieu Nghia Buddhist Association on November 20, 2020.

The Buddhist Association currently has over 78,000 followers residing in 16 provinces and cities of the country.

This year, the three major anniversaries of Tu An Hieu Nghia Buddhism will not be held on the 5^th of the fifth lunar month at Tam Buu – Phi Lai pagoda located in Ba Chuc town of An Giang province’s Tri Ton district and other worshipping place of the Buddhist sect due to the Covid-19 epidemic. Worshiping places of Tu An Hieu Nghia Buddhist Association will only hang national and religious flags, and banners to celebrate the festival.
