The Traffic Safety Committee (NTSC) in Binh Dinh province has signed with Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) chapter in the province a program for coordination in promoting traffic safety amongst local Buddhists at a ceremony held on November 11.
The coordination program aimed to strengthen the dissemination of the state policies and law on traffic safety as well as enhance collaboration between Buddhist organizations and the provincial NTSC for reducing traffic accidents to 5-10% in 2018 and the following years at all three criteria numbers of cases, death and injured persons.
Addressing the event, Most Venerable Chairman of the provincial VBS executive committee Thích Nguyên Phước urged Buddhist subordinate units to incorporate contents for traffic safety into preaching meetings so as to raise locals’ awareness on the issue. The chairman also recommended local Buddhist executive boards to organize requiems at traffic accidents “hot spots”, contributing to enhance traffic safety in the locality.
