The Public Security in Can Tho and the city VBS sign coordination program

During the event, the two sides approved six main contents in the advocacy for gathering local Buddhists and drawing their active involvement for ensuring traffic order and safety in the 2023-2026 period.

Accordingly, the city Public Security Department and the VBS in the city would organize conferences for disseminating the law on traffic safety and order for Buddhist followers in the locality during Buddhist festival and events or retreat courses; encourage local Buddhists to voluntarily obey traffic rules, gradually build a safe traffic culture, and hang banners, slogans and leaflets at Buddhist worshipping places in the city, etc.

Right after the signing ceremony, The Traffic Police Division under the Public Security Department in the city disseminated the Law on Road Traffic Safety and Order for Buddhist dignitaries, regulations of the road traffic safety law, common traffic violations, and several regulations relating giving way when participating in traffic, speed, and carrying in goods and people, etc.

Earlier, the Public Security Department in Lam Dong province’s Duc Trong district and the VBS in the district also have signed a similar coordination program for the 2023-2026 period.

Activities of the coordination program include dissemination of the Party and the State’s guidelines and policies on traffic safety and order during the religious practices and events, and implementing of measures to ensure traffic order and safety in Buddhist worship facilities, etc.
