Pre-Tet meetings with key religious held in localities

The People’s Committee in Long An province’s Thu Thua district held on January 4 a meeting with key ethnic, religious and intellectuals in the district, ahead of Lunar New Year (Tet) 2023.

During the event, Vice Chairman of the district People’s Committee Phan Văn Tớ briefed on results of socio-economic development of the district in 2022 and highlighted practical contributions made by religious and ethnic people. As reported, religious organizations have contributed over 9 billion VND for presenting 14,130 sets of support and 17 bicycles to the disadvantaged, building and repairing 10 charity houses, providing free herbal medicines to the poor, etc.

On the occasion, the district People’s Committee presented certificates of commendation to 24 individuals for their practical contributions fostering good secular and religious life.

In Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, Long Dien district authorities also held on January 4 a meeting with leaders of religious organizations in the district, ahead of Tet festival 2023.

* Authorities of Duy Xuyen district in Quang Nam held on January 3 a pre-Tet meeting with religious dignitaries and deacons in the locality.

Duy Xuyen district currently has five operative religions of Buddhism, Catholicism, Caodaism and Protestantism with over 12,000 adherents.
