Ninh Binh provincial authorities held on January 22 an exchange meeting with religious dignitaries in the province ahead of the Lunar New Year of the Ox 2021.
The event saw the presence of General Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyễn Thị Thu Hà, Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Trần Hồng Quảng, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Phạm Quang Ngọc, and heads of concerning provincial departments and agencies and authorities of districts in the province.
Present at the meeting also included Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Năng, Head of Ho Chi Minh City Archdiocese cum Apostolic Administrator of Phat Diem Diocese, Most Venerable Thích Thanh Đàm, Standing Member of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Central Discernment Council cum Head of the VBS’s Discernment Council in Ninh Binh, Seniour Venerable Thọ Lạc, Member of the Secretarial Board of the VBS’s Central Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS Executive Committee in Ninh Binh, and over 200 Buddhist dignitaries representing followers of religions in the province.
At the gathering with religious dignitaries, General Secretary Nguyễn Thị Thu Hà updated results of socio-economic development in 2020, and affirmed that the state authorities in Ninh Binh always pay due attention to legitimate needs of religious organizations in the province and timely solve practical issues relating religion-related land, worshipping places and religious practices in accordance with state laws.

The official also asked religious dignitaries to continue upholding fine traditions of religion and guiding lay religious to proactively respond to social programs and movements, practically contributing to social unity and development in Ninh Binh province.
Participating religious dignitaries highly appreciated the exchange meeting and stated that the gathering practically contributed to promote mutual understanding and collaborations for socio-economic development in the locality.
