During a working trip to An Giang province, Politburo Member and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization Trương Thị Mai paid a visit on August 30 to Long Xuyen Diocese Cathedral.
Joining the visit included Secretary of An Giang provincial Party Committee Võ Thị Ánh Xuân and local authorities’ representatives.
During the visit, Mrs. Trương Thị Mai extended congratulatory wishes to new Coadjutor Bishop of Long Xuyen Diocese, Joseph Trần Văn Toản, recently appointed by the Pope.
Speaking at the welcoming reception, Coadjutor Bishop Joseph Trần Văn Toản pledged to work closely with the Catholic Church and the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam for encouraging Catholics to realize the Church’s motto “Living the Gospel within the nation” for bringing happiness to the people.
