Nghe An province People’s Committee held on January 17 a meeting to review religious affairs 2018 in the province and approve working plans for 2019.
The meeting was chaired by Chairman of Nghe An provincial People’s Committee Thái Thanh Quý.

Regarding the state administration on religious affairs, the meeting report highly praised the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs for their advisory works and coordination with concerning departments over the year. In 2018, local authorities approved the establishment of four Catholic communities and two parishes and the restoration of two pagodas, etc.

Addressing the event, Chairman Thái Thanh Quý spoke highly of efforts to carry out the state administration on religious affairs in the locality in 2018. He also stressed the need for timely addressing issues related to belief and religion in the locality, contributing to meet the legitimate need of religious practices and ensuring social stability and sustainable development in the province.
On the occasion, local authorities presented certificates of merit by the Prime Minister and the provincial People’s Committee to units and individuals for their outstanding in the state administration on religion over the past year.
