New President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFF) Đỗ Văn Chiến hosted a reception on April 15 for Priest Joseph Trần Xuân Mạnh, Chairman of the Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics.
During the visit, Priest Joseph Trần Xuân Mạnh shared with the host outstanding works of the Vietnamese Catholics Solidarity Committee over the past years, which have engaged Catholics to make practical contributions for socio-economic development in localities through charity works, education promotion, environmental protection, and the Covid-19 epidemic prevention last year.
The Priest Chairman also had exchanges with the host on the upcoming elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for 2021- 2026 tenure.
Speaking with the guest, while highlighting efforts of the Vietnamese Catholics Solidarity Committee as a member organization of the VFF to well implement patriotic emulation movements, President Đỗ Văn Chiến expressed hope the Priest Chairman would promote his prestigious role in encouraging Catholics to well implement the state’s laws, practically contribute to the socio-economic development in the country, and uphold civic responsibilities in the upcoming elections.
On the same day, President Đỗ Văn Chiến also received Pastor Vũ Hữu Mạc, Heads of the Vietnam Evangelical Church (North) at the VFF’s Office.
