A bridge financed by Thien Mau pagoda located in Chieu village in Ho Chi Minh city was formally inaugurated at a ceremony held on January 7 in Phu Dien commune in Dong Thap province’s Thap Muoi district.
As reported, the bridge has the total construction cost of VND 510 million.
On the occasion, Ho Chi Minh City Medicine and Pharmacy University provided free health checks and medicines and presented gift sets to the poor and scholarships to pupils with the total value of over VND 1.5 billion.
Earlier, the construction of two bridges located in two communes of Lang Bien and Tan Trieu was also started at ground-breaking ceremonies held on January 4. The construction of the two bridges is expected to cost over VND 500 million and financed from fundraising by Venerable Head of Tam Nong district Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Board Thích Thiện Quý amongst Buddhist followers and other donors.
