The Military Command in Ho Chi Minh city’s Tan Phu district and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) in the district signed on June 2 a cooperation program for the 2022 – 2025 period.

The event taking place at the headquarter of the district Military Command in Tan Son Nhi ward saw the participation of Deputy Commissar of the city High Command Hoàng Văn Tấn , Most Venerable Thích Thiện Hòa, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s in district, representatives from the local authorities, other members of the district VBS’s executive board and heads of Buddhist monasteries in the district.
According to the signed document, the two sides will disseminate the State and Party’s guidelines and policies on religions and update information on defense and security knowledge for Buddhist monks, nuns and lay followers.
In addition, the two sides will organize charity programs to support policy beneficiaries and disadvantaged lay Buddhists, advocate local people not to litter in roads and canals, and launch the “loving meals” program.
