Binh Phuoc province’s Phu Rieng district authorities held an exchange meeting on March 28 with religious dignitaries, elderly and prestigious people in ethnic minority groups in the locality.
The event drew 57 delegates who made outstanding contributions in social programs and movements launched in the locality.
During the event, local officials of Phu Rieng district informed meeting participants of socio-economic development results in the locality in 2018, including the implementation of policies and programs designed to support local ethnic minority groups and religious communities.
On this occasion, the district authorities presented certificates of recommendation to 13 typical members from religious and ethnic groups for their practical contributions to social activities in the locality.
As reported, Phu Rieng district has 10 ethnic minority groups and four major religious organizations. In 2018, the district authorities spent over 5.6 billion VND on programs supporting to religious and ethnic communities.
