Management of heritages in localities asked to be strengthened

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyễn Văn Hùng presided on September 3 a meeting with Department of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture Sports and Tourism.  

At the meeting Deputy Minister Nguyễn Văn Hùng stressed the need for preserving and promoting values of cultural heritages for socio-economic development in the country.

He also pointed out the responsibility and coordination with local authorities in the recognition and management of cultural relics, and asked localities to tighten the management of heritages.

According to Director of Cultural Heritage Department Lê Thị Thu Hiền, the country currently has over 63,000 intangible cultural heritages including 340 classified national intangible cultural heritages and 13 world heritages as recognized by UNESCO.
