Deputy Secretary of Ben Tre provincial Party Committee Hồ Thị Hoàng Yến led a delegation to visit several Buddhist dignitaries in the province on May 24, ahead of the Buddha Birthday 2021 (B.E. 2565).
The delegation visited and met with Most Venerable Thích Nhựt Tấn, Member of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Council cum Chairman of the provincial VBS Chapter and Abbot of Tien Dai pagoda in Tien Thuy commune, Chau Thanh district; Most Venerable Thích Lệ Linh, Member of the VBS’s Executive Council cum Vice Chairman of the provincial VBS Chapter and Abbot of Tu An pagoda in Tien Thuy commune; and Superior Nun Thích Nữ Như Đán, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial VBS Chapter cum Abbess of Hung Lam pagoda in Giao Long commune
During the visiting receptions, Deputy Secretary Hồ Thị Hoàng Yến extended best wishes and happy Vesak celebration to Buddhist monks, nuns and lay followers in the province. She also praised VBS Chapter and Buddhist followers for their social and charitable activities in the locality over the past years.
The Deputy Secretary expressed hope that the provincial VBS Chapter would continue encouraging Buddhists to well observe the Covid-19 prevention measures.
In Tien Giang province, a delegation from the Tien Giang provincial Committee for Religious Affairs led by Chairwoman Bùi Thị Mai on May 21 and 24 paid visits to the VBS executive board in the province’s districts.
The delegation visited the VBS executive board in districts of Cho Gao, Go Cong Tay, Go Cong Dong, Chau Thanh, Tan Phuoc, Cai Lay, Cai Be and the provincial districts of Go Cong and Cai Lay.
