Linh Dong village temple in Ho Chi Minh City recognized as national architectural relic

Linh Dong temple located in Linh Chieu ward of Ho Chi Minh City’s Thu Duc district has received the national architectural relic title on November 30.  

The temple is a unique construction work with historical, cultural and architectural values. This place features the community cohesion of Southern villages.

Linh Dong temple currently preserves the ordination given by King Tự Đức to the village tutelage Bổn Cảnh of Linh Chieu Dong village in An Nghia district on the 29th of the 11th lunar month (January 8, 1853), the fifth year under Tự Đức reign.

In addition, the temple also has many delicate carving treasures made by wood, featuring topics of dragon - unicorn – turtle – phoenix; crane – turtle; flower - leaf – fruit, etc.

Linh Dong temple festival held annually on the 15th and the 16th of the tenth lunar month often draws flocks of locals and visitors.
