Chairman of Lam Dong provincial People’s Committee Trần Đức Quận hosted on September 29 a welcoming reception for visiting Most Venerable President of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Council Thích Thiện Nhơn.
Joining the reception included Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s committee Lam Dong province Nguyễn Trọng Ánh Đông and Most Venerable Chairman of the Executive Committee of the VBS’s Chapter in the province Thích Toàn Đức.
While informing the guests results of socio-economic development in the locality over the past year, Chairman Trần Đức Quận praised social and charitable activities of the VBS chapter in the locality, especially the provision of support to the poor and the disadvantaged in the province.
The Buddhist leader was on a working trip in Lam Dong province and earlier attended the 9th congress of the VBS chapter in the province.
