Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ben Tre province Trần Ngọc Tam visited Vinh Long Diocese and met with Bishop Peter Huỳnh Văn Hai on December 21 ahead of Christmas 2020.
During the visiting reception at the office of Vinh Long diocese, Chairman Trần Ngọc Tam extended Christmas greetings to Bishop Peter Huỳnh Văn Hai of Vinh Long, and all priests, clergymen, clergywomen and lay Catholics in the diocese.
The provincial government leader applauded the diocese’s contributions in social charities, including practical supports for the Covid-19 prevention work and assistance extended to people seriously affected by the salt intrusion in the locality this year.
He also expressed hope that the diocese bishop would continue encouraging Catholics in the diocese to promote fine traditions for socio-economic development in Ben Tre.
