Lam Kinh Festival to be held only with worshiping rituals

09/28/2020

The provincial government of Thanh Hoa on September 24 issued an instruction on the organization of Lam Kinh Festival 2020.

Accordingly, as a cautious measure against the Covid-19 pandemic, the Lam Kinh festival this year will be held only with worshipping rituals in the Lam Kinh historical relic site and at associated temples nearby, without cultural activities as in previous years.

In addition, for preventing the spread of Covid-19, visitors to the festival this year are also requested to keep social distancing, put on facemasks and regularly wash their hands with soap or disinfection liquids placed available in the festival places.

Lam Kinh festival is annually held on the 22nd of the 8th lunar month, and usually with many cultural performances and folk games. In addition to main activities taking place in the Lam Kinh relic complex, worshiping rituals, including incense offerings ceremonies, often take place at associated worshiping places such as Lê Lai’s Temple, the Temple of the Later Lê Dynasty and the statue of Lê Lợi in the centre of Thanh Hoa City.
