The Khau Vai Love Market 2022 will take place in Khau Vai commune and the stadium of Meo Vac district in the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang on April 25 – 27, according to the Ha Giang provincial People’s Committee.
Performing “Tree dance” of Lo Lo ethnic group at the festival
This year festival’s opening ceremony to be held in the evening of April 26 will include the formal reception of the certificate recognizing the Khau Vai Love Market as a national intangible cultural heritage.
The three-day event will feature cultural identities of the local ethnic groups including a beauty contest in the rocky plateau, an incense offering ceremony at Ong's and Ba's temples, prayers for peace and prosperity, folk games and traditional performances, such as playing the trumpet of the Hmong, singing the Nung and Giay folk songs, bronze drum and the erhu dances of the Lo Lo ethnic group, hat and scarf dance of Giay ethnic group, fire dance of Lo Lo ethnic group, etc.
In addition, visitors can visit booths displaying and introducing typical products and local cuisine at the festival venues, and participate in series of activities to visit and discover famous local attractions.
