International seminar on Ba Chua Xu festival & forms of Mother Goddess worshipping in the world to be held

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued decision on the organization of the international seminar "Ba Chua Xu (The Lady of the Realm) Festival and forms of Mother Goddess worshipping in the world".
Accordingly to the decision, the international seminar will be held online on December 18 with the participation of representatives of relevant agencies and organizations, Vietnamese and Asia-Pacific scholars in the field of culture.
The event will be co-organized by Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture in coordination with the People's Committee in An Giang province’s Chau Doc city and the management board of the Sam Mountain Cultural and Historical Site.
Earlier, An Giang provincial government has proposed the drafting of the dossier of Ba Chua Xu festival in Chau Doc to be submitted the UNESCO for consideration and recognition as an intangible culture heritage of humanity. This seminar would help An Giang authorities to learn experiences in developing the dossier as well as preserve and promote values of the intangible cultural heritage.
