Implementing the annual program for inspecting the implementation of religious laws, the department of home affairs in Quang Binh province held a meeting with the province’s Bo Trach district’s authorities on September 26.
Attending the meeting included members of a delegation of the home affairs department led by Deputy Director Phan Ngọc Duy, Vice Chairman of Bo Trach district People’s Committee Nguyễn Hữu Hồng, and representatives of concerning offices of the district.
Later in the day, Deputy Director Phan Ngọc Duy led the delegation at a meeting with the local authorities of the district’ Phuc Trach commune for further inspecting the implementation of religious laws in the locality.
According to a district’s report, Bo Trach is home to over 28,000 Catholics, accounting for approximately 15% of the district population, with eight parishes, 21 sup-parishes and 21 churches. Buddhism in the district currently has over 700 followers with two Buddhist temples.
