Hue Nam temple festival, also known as Hon Chen temple festival, was opened on April 13 on Ngoc Tra Mountain in Thua Thien Hue province’s Huong Tra district.
Hue Nam Temple festival is a traditional festival with royal and folk rites of Hue people in particular and Vietnamese people in general. The festival is annually held on the third lunar month (the second day and the third day) and the seventh lunar month (from 8th day to 10th day) with many traditional rites such as a procession of the Mother Goddess Thien Y A Na, life release, lantern festival, Hue traditional singing, etc.
Hon Chen temple belongs to the Hue citadel complex that has been classified as a special national-level relic. In late 2018, the main worshipping hall of the temple has been renovated at the construction total cost of about 11 billion VND.
