The minister accompanied by Chairman of the People’s Committee in Thai Binh province Nguyễn Khắc Thận, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Lại Văn Hoàn and Vice Chairwoman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Trần Thị Minh Nga visited and met with Residential Bishop of Thai Binh Diocese Dominic Đặng Văn Cầu, Priest Head of Sa Cat Parish Joseph Nguyễn Đình Huynh.

During the visits, while extending warm Christmas greetings 2023 to Bishop Dominic Đặng Văn Cầu, Priest Joseph Nguyễn Đình Huynh and all Catholics of Thai Binh diocese, the home affairs minister spoke highly of practical contributions made by Catholics in the province for socio-economic development in the locality.
On the occasion, Minister Phạm Thị Thanh Trà presented Christmas gifts to people with outstanding contributions and disadvantaged children of Thai Binh diocese.
As reported, Thai Binh diocese currently has 135 parishes, 16 religious orders and congregations, with 02 bishops and 232 clergy men and women residing in Thai Binh and Hung Yen provinces.

Archbishop Giuse Vũ Văn Thiên took the chance to thank to Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng, the GCRA and municipal authorities for their due attention and supports extended to religious practices of religions in general, and Catholicism in particular. The archbishop expressed hope the GCRA would continue promoting the role of a bridge to strengthen the relation between authorities and Catholic followers, creating favorable conditions for meeting legitimate needs of religious practices of parishioners.
