Deputy Head of Home Affairs Department in Quang Binh province in charge of religious affairs Phan Ngọc Duy led a delegation on April 18 to visit the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s (VBS) Executive Board in the province’s Bo Trach district.
The delegation was welcomed by Senior Venerable Head of the district VBS’s Executive Board Thích Thường Chiếu.
During the visiting reception, Deputy Head Phan Ngọc Duy discussed with the host Buddhist affairs to be implemented in the coming time including the appointment of the abbot of Quan Am pagoda in Thanh Trach commune and the celebration of the Buddha's birthday 2018 – B.E. 2562. He hoped that Buddhist dignitaries and followers in the district would continue joining social programs and movements for the socio-economic development in the locality.
Senior Venerable Thích Thường Chiếu took the chance to thank local authorities for their support extended to the VBS’s Executive Board and stated that the VBS’s executive board in the district would work closely with local authorities in Buddhist affairs in the district.
