Home affairs department in Quang Binh authorities held meeting on religious affairs with Ba Don authorities

A meeting on religious affairs has been held on August 31 between the Quang Binh provincial Home Affairs Department and Ba Don provincial-city authorities.
Joining the meeting included Deputy Director of Home Affairs Phan Ngọc Duy, Chairman of the provincial religious committee Tô Ngọc Hồng, Vice Chairman of Ba Don district People’s Committee Mai Tất Thắng and representatives of the district’s home affairs office.
The meeting reviewed the current religious life and the state administration on religion in the district over the past years, as well as pointed out shortcomings and difficulties to be overcome in the coming time.
Speaking during the meeting, Deputy Director Phan Ngọc Duy urged the Ba Don district authorities to proactively step up the dissemination of state policies and laws on religion and work closely with concerning authorities for overcoming effects of the maritime incident while ensuring public security and order.
Ba Don district is home to over 37,000 Catholic followers residing in 14 out of 16 communes and wards in the district, accounting for about 35% of the local population,.
