A delegation of the Home Affairs Department in Kon Tum province has visited and congratulated the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee and several Buddhist worshipping places in the province, on the occasion of Vu lan Festival 2020.
During the visit, the delegation led by Deputy Director Nguyễn Thành Trung and accompanied by Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Vũ Quang Dũng met with Most Venerable Vice President of the VBS’s Executive Council cum Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee Thích Quảng Xả in Hue Chieu pagoda, Venerable Thích Nhuận Thông in Thanh Trung pagoda and Nun Thích Nữ Chúc Giác in Phap Hoa pagoda.
At the visiting receptions, Deputy Director Nguyễn Thành Chung extended warm celebrations of Vu lan to Most Venerable Thích Quảng Xả and Buddhist monks, nuns and devotees in the province. The official also spoke highly of the provincial VBS’s efforts in scaling down large gatherings in Buddhist worshipping places for preventing the Covid-19 pandemic.
