Home Affairs Department in Bac Ninh congratulates local Buddhist church on Vu Lan Festival

Director of Home Affairs in Bac Ninh Province Nguyễn Trọng Tân on September 1 visited and extended congratulations to the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s chapter in the province on occasion of Vu Lan - Buddhist Parents’ Day 2020.
Welcoming reception, while appreciating the congratulating visit of the home affairs official, Ven. Chairman of the VBS executive committee Thích Thanh Phụng informed celebrations of Vu Lan festival in the locality in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
According to the Buddhist dignitary, celebrations of Vu Lan festival this year in Bac Ninh have been reduced in scales and strictly observed preventive measures against the pandemic, including facemask wearing, hand washings and keeping a distance of one meter from each other when attending the celebrations.
On the occasion of the Buddhist festival, the home affair department in Bac Ninh visited and met with several Buddhist dignitaries in the province, and took the chance to check the Covid-19 prevention work implemented in Buddhist communities in the locality.
