The Hanoi municipal Committee for Religious Affairs has just released a official note on the organization of Vu Lan – Buddhist Parents’ Day festival 2021.

In the note, the municipal religious committee asked People's Committees in districts and municipal cities to guide Buddhist worshipping places in the localities in celebrations of Vu Lan festival for promoting the preservation and promotion of fine Buddhist traditions and ensuring strict implementation of recommendations for the Covid-19 prevention and control.

In particular, online religious practices and preaching guided by monks and nuns residing and temporarily residing at Buddhist places should be encouraged, the note said.

This year's Vu Lan festival will take place in the context of the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic in many provinces and cities. In which Hanoi, a strict social distancing has been imposed by the municipal People's Committee for coping with the pandemic spread.
