A delegation from Ha Tinh provincial People’s Committee led by Vice Chairman Nguyễn Hồng Lĩnh paid a visit on December 16 to the office of Ha Tinh diocese in Ha Tinh city’s Thach Trung commune ahead of Christmas 2020.
The delegation was welcomed by Bishop of the diocese Paul Nguyễn Thái Hợp.
At the visiting reception, while extending Christmas greetings to dignitaries and lay Catholics in the diocese, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Hồng Lĩnh informed the guest of socio-economic development of the province in 2020 and spoke highly of practical contributions made by the Catholic community in social charities.
He also expressed hope that Catholic leaders and parishioners would actively participate in patriotic emulation movements for socio-economic development in the locality.
Bishop Paul Nguyễn Thái Hợp took the chance to thank the provincial authorities’ due attention extended to the Catholic practices over the past years.
He also shared that lay Catholics in the diocese always wish to make practical contributions for national construction and defense, and join hands with local authorities for socio-economic development of the province.
On the same day, Chairman of the provincial Party Committee's Commission for Organizational Affairs Võ Hồng Hải visited and extended Christmas greetings to Priest Jean-Baptiste Nguyễn Khắc Bá, Vicar General of the diocese cum Head of Can Loc deanery, and lay Catholics in the deanery.
