Ha Tinh holds requiem at Nam National Martyrs Cemetery

Ha Tinh authorities in collaboration with the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) chapter in the province held on May 16 a requiem at Nam National Martyrs Cemetery located in Huong Son district and received remains of 11 Vietnamese martyrs who died in Lao PDR.

Performing Buddhist rituals at the event

The event saw the presence of Vice Chairman of Ha Tinh provincial People’s Committee Lê Ngọc Châu and Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Trần Văn Kỳ.

Participants at the event

During the event, participating Buddhists and officials offered incense, lid candles and flowers, and performed Buddhist rites to pray for the spiritual uplifting of fallen soldiers.

The requiem aimed to pay the debt of gratitude to Vietnamese volunteers and experts who died in Laos in two wars against French colonialism and US imperialism as well as other soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the national independence and noble international spirit.
