The provincial government of Ha Tinh issued on December 4 an official note for enhancing the organization and management of festivals in the province.
Accordingly, the Ha Tinh provincial government asked for a strict implementation of the Decree No. 110 issued by the Government in 2018 for regulating the organization and administration of festivals, and concerning administrative documents relating to the organization and management of traditional festivals. In case of the risk of Covid-19 outbreak and spread amongst the community, traditional festivals shall be immediately suspended and strictly follow guidance of the Ministry of Health and local authorities in relics in the locality.
The provincial department for culture, sport and tourism will collaborate with concerning local authorities in guiding the festival organization in accordance with the law, the classification of festivals and inspection of the organization and management of festivals before and during the festivals.
In organizing festivals, the local authorities are requested to propagate origins of festivals, monuments and honored deities in the worshipping places, values and meanings of traditional festivals and ceremonies; prevent superstitious activities, fortune telling, votive paper burning and deviant worshipping practices; ensure festivals taking place in safe and economical manners and strictly observe preventive measures for the Covid-19 pandemic, etc.
The issued dispatch also requested the organization of a provincial – level festival will be notified 20 days in advance, and the organization board of a festival will submit the festival organization report within 15 days after the closing day of the festival.
