Deputy Secretary of Ha Nam provincial Party’s Committee Đinh Thị Lụa and Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Ánh Chức received on January 25 Archbishop of Hanoi Archdiocese Joseph Vũ Văn Thiên, ahead of the traditional New Year (Tet) 2024.
Overview of the reception
During the visit, Archbishop Joseph Vũ Văn Thiên thanked local authorities for support and favorable conditions extended to religious practices of local Catholic followers in the two deaneries of Phu Ly and Ly Nhan over the past years, while extending Tet greetings to local officials and people. He also informed outstanding activities of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam in the past years.

Speaking with the guests, while informing results of socio-economic development in 2023, Chairwoman Đinh Thị Lụa highly appreciated practical contributions made by local Catholic followers for the socio-economic development in the province.
She also took the chance to extend wishes of happiness and sucess to the bishop, priests, and lay followers in the locality in Lunar New Year of Dragon.
On the same day, Director of the provincial Home Affairs Department Lê Xuân Huy and Deputy Director of the provincial Home Affairs Department Đỗ Hồng Hà also received a delegation from the two Catholic deaneries led by Priest Joseph Nguyễn Văn Pháp, Head of Trang Chau parish, ahead of the Lunar New Year.
