Ha Giang provincial People’s Committee held on July 16 a meeting to review performances of steering committees for religious affairs and human rights in the first six months of 2018.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party’s Committee cum Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Văn Sơn.
As reported at the meeting, local authorities have paid due attention to meet the need for religious practices by religious and individuals in the locality for the past six months.
During the event, the provincial People’s Committee has formally established the merger of the two steering committees for human rights and religious affairs into one body called the steering committee for human rights and religious affairs.
Ha Giang province currently has three recognized religions of Buddhism, Catholicism and Protestantism.
