A delegation of Gia Lai provincial Committee for Religious Affairs attended on April 20 the funeral of Most Venerable Thích Từ Hương held at Buu Nghiem pagoda located in Dien Hong Ward of Pleiku City.
The delegation led by Deputy Director of provincial Home Affairs Department cum Chairman of the provincial religious committee Hồ Hải Tần also laid a wreath sent by the Government Committee for Religious Affairs for paying homage to the late Buddhist dignitary.
During the funeral, Chairman Hồ Hải Tần expressed his condolences to Buddhists in Gia Lai and relatives of the Most Venerable Thích Từ Hương, saying his death is a great loss to the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) chapter in Gia Lai province.
Late Most Venerable Thích Từ Hương was born in 1928 in Binh Dinh province. He was Member of the VBS’s Central Discernment Council cum Abbot of Buu Nghiem pagoda. He died on April 18, 2021 due to old age.
