Attending the gathering included Chairman of the GCRA Vũ Hoài Bắc, representatives of the Quang Ngai provincial Home Affairs Department and the provincial Religious Affairs Committee, and large number of key members of religious organizations and representatives of belief worshiping places in the province.

The two-day conference coved key contents of the State’s policies and laws on environmental protection, current environmental pollution and risks, and environmental protection work in Quang Ngai province.

Speaking at the conference, GCRA Chairman Vũ Hoài Bắc highlighted the important role of religious organizations in environmental protection and sustainable environmental development, and stated that religious dignitaries and belief worshipping places have not only contributed to raise awareness and promote responsibility for environmental protection amongst the religious community and locals, but also played a key role in monitoring the enforcement of laws on environment in the locality.

He also spoke highly of practical programs launched by religious organizations in the province over the last years for protection of forests, cleaning and clearance of canals, plantation of trees, reduction of burning votive papers, etc.
