President of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front (VFF) Trần Thanh Mẫn led a delegation to visit the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (North) on December 11 in the lead up to the upcoming Christmas celebrations.
He wished Head of the Church Pastor Nguyễn Hữu Mạc and church members a joyous and happy Christmas.
The VFF leader expressed his hope that Pastor Nguyễn Hữu Mạc will continue encouraging the church members to take part in charitable activities and the patriotic movements launched by the front.
For his part, Pastor Nguyễn Hữu Mạc affirmed that, as a member of the VFF, the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (North) will always accompany the nation and make more contributions to the cause of national construction and defence.
Over the past few days, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs has also dispatched working delegations to the provinces of Lai Chau, Dien Bien and Son La to extend Christmas greetings to dignitaries of local evangelical churches.
The committee representatives wished them a happy Christmas while recognising their active contributions to the nation’s achievements, especially in the implementation of measures to contain Covid-19.
