Fostering course on management of Buddhist places and knowledge of national defense and security in Ben Tre concluded

The fostering course on the management of Buddhist worshipping places and the knowledge of national defense and security in Ben Tre province was formally concluded at a closing ceremony held on September 16 at Vien Minh pagoda located in the province’s An Hoi ward.

The course was held in collaboration with the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) chapter in the province and the provincial Defense and Security Training Council.

Present at the closing ceremony included Most Venerable Member of the VBS’s Central Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Committee in Ben Tre Thích Nhựt Tấn, Senior Venerable Member of the VBS’s Central Executive Council cum Vice Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Committee in the province Thích Trí Thọ, Venerable Vice Chairman cum Chief Office of the VBS’s Executive Committee in the province Thích Trí Thuận, members of the VBS’s executive committee, and 278 Buddhist dignitaries from Buddhist monasteries in the province.

Guests at the event included Colonel Vice Chairman of the provincial Defense and Security training council Mai Văn Chính and Vice Chairman of the Committee for Religious Affairs in the province Phạm Ngọc Thành.

As reported, the fostering course taking place from September 12-16 includes a three-day training on the administration of Buddhist monasteries, and a two-day training on the Party’s viewpoints on national defense and security and state policies and laws on ethnics & religions.

During the closing ceremony, the VBS’s executive committee in the province presented graduation certificates of the fostering course on the administration of worshipping places to 278 monks and nuns, and the provincial defense and security training council handed over graduation certificates of the national defense and security course to 80 monks and nuns.
