Encouraging Catholics in Tien Giang to contribute more to the homeland

A survey delegation from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFF) led by Vice President Nguyễn Hữu Dũng on May 18 had a meeting with the VFF in Tien Giang province on finance and operating conditions of the Committee for Solidarity Catholics of Vietnam (CSCV) in the province and the district-level CSCV.

During the meeting, Vice Chairman of the provincial VFF Huỳnh Văn Hải informed that Tien Giang currently has 52,213 Catholics, accounting for 2.96% the provincial population with 57 priests and 52 pastoral affairs boards with 390 members.

Over the past years, the provincial CSCV has encouraged local compatriots to proactively join in social programs and movements launched by local authorities, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.

The meeting also had exchanges on preparation works of the CSCV’s congress and financial regulations on activities of the provincial VFF.
