Duc Ong worshipping shrine belonging to Trung Temple to be restored

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism sent on July 20 a dispatch to the Hanoi municipal People's Committee about the restoration and embellishment of Duc Ong worshipping shrine in the Trung Temple relic site located in the city’s Ba Vi district.  

In the dispatch No. 2539/BVHTTDL-DSVH, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism agreed with the city’s proposal about contents including raising the construction foundation by five centimeters; preservation and renovation of the construction’s architecture; demolishment of the existing surrounding wall, and classification and reuse of old bricks for rebuilding the wall.

The ministry also asked the municipal People’s Committee for the maximum preservation of the old wooden structures, footings, roof tiles and especially the bricks in existing wall, as well as to assign concerning agencies to complete the dossier and make public the restoration plan of the relic site before starting the renovation.

Trung temple along with Thuong and Ha temples belong to the complex of Tan Vien Son Thanh temple historical relic site located at Ba Vi mountain of Ba Vi district.

The relic site was recognized as a national cultural and historical relic site on February 21, 2008.
