The Social Security in Khanh Hoa province held on December 13 a meeting for disseminating policies of voluntary social insurance to lay Buddhists of Linh Thuu pagoda located in Nha Trang city.
The meeting was held in collaboration with the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) in the city with the participation of over 150 lay Buddhists of the pagoda.
The meeting provided information on benefits of social insurance, insurance payment methods, the registration dossier, supporting policies from the state budget, and the pension regime, etc.
Lay Buddhists learn about voluntary social insurance
The meeting is part of the coordination program between the provincial social security and the VFF in Nha Trang for encouraging the participation of voluntary social and health insurance in religious people in the locality.
As reported, Nha Trang city currently has 39 religious organizations under 14 religions, with members accounting for nearly 27 percent of the city's population. However, the number of beneficiaries of social & health insurance regimes and policies who are religious followers still remains low.
