The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) committee in Ho Chi Minh City held on January 18 a meeting to disseminate the Law on Belief and Religion to religious dignitaries and clergies from Vietnam South.
Attending the dissemination meeting included Vice President of the VFF Central Committee Ngô Sách Thực, representative leaders of religious organizations and VFF’s committees in 31 Southern provinces and cities.
The Law on Belief and Religion was adopted last November by the 14th National Assembly at its second session. The new law with 09 chapters and 68 articles has officially taken effect on January 1, 2018.
It is the highest legal document on belief and religion in Vietnam, enacted with the aim to institutionalize the Party's guideline and the 2013 Constitution’s articles on protecting the right to freedom of belief and religion for people, as well as overcome limitations in the State administration on religious affairs and improve the legal system of belief and religion in Vietnam.
