Thoi Binh district authorities in the southern province of Ca Mau held on November 4 a conference to disseminate the Law on Belief and Religion 2016 and documents relating to religions.
The event drew the participation of 160 commune and village-level personnel tasked with religious affairs, and religious dignitaries and deacons representing religions in the district.
During the event, Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Thanh Liêm presented topics covering key contents of the Law on Belief and Religion 2016 and its guiding decree 162, as well as the Party's Resolution 25-NQ/TW on religious affair and legal provisions relating to religion.
Thoi Binh district is currently home to over 140,000 people from ethnic groups of Kinh, Chinese and Khmer. The number of religious followers in Thoi Binh ranks second in the districts of Ca Mau province with 26 religious worshipping places of Buddhism, Catholicism, Protestantism, Caodaism, the Vietnam Pure-land Buddhist Association, and Hoa Hoa Buddhism.
