A conference for disseminating religious laws to key Buddhists in Nghe An province’s Vinh city was held on June 10-11.
The conference co-organized by Nghe An provincial Committee for Religious Affairs and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Chapter in the province, and was attended by Most Venerable Standing Vice President of the VBS’s Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS Chapter in the province Thích Thanh Nhiễu, Chairman of the provincial committee for religious affairs Lưu Công Vinh and about 200 Buddhist monks, nuns and followers from the districts of Nghi Loc, Hung Nguyen, Nam Dan, Cua Lo and Vinh city.
The two-day event covered the Law on Belief and Religion and the Decree No.162/2017/ND-CP on detailing a number of articles and providing measures for the implementation of the new law. In addition, documents of the VBS Central Committee and contents relating to regulation, functions, duties and powers of the VBS chapter in the province were also introduced to participating Buddhists.
