Binh Duong provincial People’s Committee held on September 7 a meeting to disseminate the new Law on Belief and Religion to local officials in the province.
Attending the event were about 500 participants from sectors of home affairs, mass mobilization work and public security tasked with religious affairs in the province.
During the meeting, Deputy Director of Legislation and Inspection Department under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Thị Định introduced key contents of the new Law on Belief and Religion passed by the National Assembly in November last year and will be take effect in 2018, including the necessity for enactment of the new Law and its main contents. Other legal provisions on religion-related land and construction of worshipping places were also covered at the meeting.
As reported at the event, a similar conference will also be held by the provincial People’s Committee for over 500 religious dignitaries and deacons in Binh Duong province in the coming time.
