To meet legitimate needs of religious practices and prevent activities causing public disturbances in bordering areas, concerning authorities of Bao Lac district in the Northern border province of Cao Bang the implementation of the Law on Belief and Religion have paid due attention to the dissemination of the Law on Belief and Religion 2016.
According to Chairman of the People’s Committee of Bao Lac district Nguyễn Ích Chánh, the district office for home affairs has closely worked with the three border posts of Coc Pang, Co Ba and Xuan Truong and bordering communes in the district for speeding up the implementation of the new law on belief and religion. So far, 185 dissemination meetings have been held for 5,700 participating locals from ethnic communities.
In addition, the public security in the district in collaboration with the border force stationed in the locality has organized 35 dissemination meetings on the new belief and religion law for 4,400 participants, met with 415 representative leaders of local Protestant congregations and 81 prestigious people of ethnic minority groups.
Bao Lac district is currently home to a large number of Protestant believers residing in 15 out of 17 communes the district.
